What’s on in Eastbourne this summer
Summer’s here, the sun’s out (hopefully). You’re in Eastbourne or planning a visit and maybe thinking, what can we do?
Look no further. Here’s Sterling House’s guide to the best events that happening in Eastbourne this summer. To keep it simple we’ve kept this list just to the main events which are running a number of days. Hopefully you’ll be able to catch at least one.
Beachlife Festival. 16 – 17 July
How better than to kick-off the summer with a weekend jammed full of extreme sports at Eastbourne’s Beachlife Festival. Get involved in bubble football, roller derby, skatepark, rodeo bull, bungi trampolines and many more action-packed activities. There’s also a music stage & bar and funfair.
Eastbourne Music Live. 16 – 24 July
Eastbourne Music Live is a week long showcase of live music in a variery of bars and venues across the city. Expect some pop-up surprises too.
As you like it. 27 July – 6 August
Did you know it’s been 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare. Our delight in his work still shows no signs of waning. In Eastbourne this summer you can enjoy ‘As you like it’ with the beautiful backdrop of The Italian Gardens. Yes it’s outdoor, but don’t worry, seated is covered just in case it rains.
Continental Circus Berlin. 4 – 9 August
Fans of the ‘big top’ will love this traditional circus which visits Eastbourne’s Princess Park in August. The Circus Berlin features an international cast of breathtaking artistes and a show full to the brim with comedy, juggling, balancing, acrobatics, flying and last but no least, ‘The Laser Man’. Eastbourne’s International Airshow. 11 – 14 August
This award-winning free International Airshow returns to Eastbourne in August. Watch in awe’s as some of the UK’s best air display teams, including the infamous red arrows, climb, dive, spiral and soar over Eastbourne’s seafront. And continuing into the early evening is the Airbourne live beach stage with fireworks and live music.
Cats. 22 – 27 August
Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record breaking musical, returns to Eastbourne this August at The Congress Theatre.
Eastbourne Borough Market. Throughout July and August
All these activities and entertainment got you a little peckish? Then don’t miss the Eastbourne Borough Market, over 30 traders offering a fantastic array of local crafts and delicacies includings meats, cheeses, cakes, bread and much more. It runs from 9.30 – 3.30 every Wednesday and Sunday on Terminus Road starting at Debenhams Corner.
